Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
(1 Thessalonians 5:18)

THANK YOU!

We can’t say enough to thank our supporters. Your love, prayers, and donations have made it happen. The results of the Special General Conference of 2019 caused United Methodists around the globe to stand up and say NO! That’s not my church. You elected delegates to General and Jurisdictional Conferences that had hearts filled with love. You elected bishops who saw God’s love as wide-open arms reaching out for every precious child of God. You donated your time and money so that the LYNC coalition could be here on the ground supporting justice and inclusion.

And we are not done. The work continues.

LYNC has worked on a long-term plan of reaching out to global partners in The United Methodist Church, and that will not stop. As we live into regionalization, our partnerships will continue strengthening the church’s focus on justice and inclusion.

And our work on regionalization is not done. We must work to gather supporting votes at every annual conference. Every Single Vote Counts. Because it is an aggregate vote, a yes vote at one annual conference will offset a no vote at another conference.

Your work is not done.

Coalition Resouces

Moving forward the LYNC communications team is working to compile two resource pages for you.

First is resources about the Ratification process. We have started this page to gather resources and answer questions. If you have questions or suggested resources (maybe you are making an informational flyer?) don't hesitate to get in touch with us at coms@lyncoalition.org.

Second is a page about legislative action that the Coalition was tracking. Our Fifteen coalition partners have shared their priorities, Some passed easily on consent calendars, and some failed to move forward. Our page attempts to provide a summary and provides a link to a Google Sheet of coalition items.

LYNC Communications Team (L to R): Greg Nelson, Kelly Turney, Katharine Henry, Ophelia Hu Kinney, Joelle Henneman, Evan McElreath, Joscie Cutchens, and T.C. Morrow.

Finally,

I want to thank the wonderful LYNC Communications Team. They represent the diversity of the church and bring creativity and thoughtfulness to their work. I have learned from them as they have brought different skills, perspectives, and networks to our team. We are proud to #BeUMC and we are proud that the UMC is now welcome to all of us.

Greg Nelson, Communications Coordinator
