LYNC Is on the Ground in Calgary
The Love Your Neighbor Coalition is on the ground in Calgary as United Methodist leaders gather October 20–24 for the Council of Bishops Leadership Gathering. Coalition representatives are building relationships and sharing resources in spaces outside the official gathering.
This week the Council of Bishops have called for a leadership gathering to set the direction of the church. Three invited participants from each episcopal area, general agency representatives, and bishops will gather in Calgary Oct 20-24 to “listen and discern together about the future of The United Methodist Church.” And to “…begin to co-create the church of tomorrow.”
If a conversation with a LYNC representative in Calgary, or one of our conversation cards brought you here, welcome. Our “Questions for the church yet to be” invite leaders to love boldly, serve joyfully, lead courageously, and keep asking questions about belonging, shared power, and justice. The questions are available on our Resources page in six languages.
LYNC brings together 15 United Methodist caucuses and justice organizations. Our members offer distinct voices, relationships, and resources for building a more just, loving, and inclusive church. Their work continues throughout the year, supporting congregations and leaders through worship, learning, advocacy, and action.
Whether you are in Calgary or following from home, we invite you to explore these resources and connect with our member organizations. Together, we continue asking how grace, dignity, relationships, justice, and solidarity can shape the church we are becoming.
